CSL Harmony Color Scheme Maker
Harmonious color schemes have been understood for centuries, with an artist’s color wheel at the centre, acting as the guide. There are three distinct approaches to selecting colours to work in a harmonious fashion.
¨ Monochromatic – and the more complex related Analogous schemes.
¨ Hue Contrasts - complementary schemes.
¨ Complex Contrasts - triadic schemes.
Using the position of the main color on the color wheel; color dynamics can be created as monochromatic, complementary, related analogous and triadic color schemes. Click on the gray wheel buttons to change between harmony types. A mouse pointer hovering over a button will display the name type. Zero saturation and 100% light will create white.
The four colour chips below the main chip set represent the main colour, a secondary color, and two accents. Click on a color chip button below the main chip set to modify any individual color. Hoving the mouse pointer over the color chip button will display its name - i.e. main, secondary or accent #1 or #2.
